Glow in the Dark Paint

The glow in the dark paint is also called glow in the dark paint, but the correct term is actually phosphorescent paint.

Glow in the Dark Paint

The paint contains phosphorescent substances that absorb Lights - it can be both daylight or artificial Lights. The light is "stored" in the paint - somewhat like how a battery is charged. When the light is turned off, the paint's content of phosphorescent substances will "glow", thus giving you glow in the dark paint. How long and how brightly / how much the paint glows depends on how much paint has been applied, as well as how much it has been "charged", so one cannot say how many hours the paint is glow in the dark.

Glow in the dark paint is not the same as UV paint, which does not glow in the dark in the same way as glow in the dark paint. UV paint contains fluorescent substances that are affected by UV Lights, and thus the UV active fluorescent substances glow in the dark, but only under UV Lights.
