What types of drum cymbals are there?

Cymbals can be divided into two different types, namely effect cymbals and rhythm cymbals.

A rhythm cymbal is for example a hi-hat, which we know from the classic drum set. A hi-hat consists of two cymbals mounted together on a stand. The cymbals are struck together by means of a foot pedal and produce a short and bright sound. In addition to the left foot on the foot pedal, you can also play the hi-hat with a drumstick in your right hand.

An example of an effect cymbal is the crash cymbal, which is used in symphony orchestras, for example.

Which cymbal should I choose?

Your choice of cymbal depends on what you will use it for ? in a jazz band, a symphony orchestra, a heavy metal band, or something completely different. Feel free to contact us for advice on choosing a cymbal.
